evoLeadGate: uninstalling

By default, uninstalling evoLeadGate keeps the leads. Decide first what you want to do with the data.

Before uninstalling

  1. Remove the element from your pages. Check the YOOtheme builder pages that use "Lead magnet" and delete or replace it. [PENDIENTE: check what YOOtheme shows on pages that still hold the element after the plugin is uninstalled].
  2. Export the leads if you need them: Components → evoLeadGate → Export CSV.
  3. Decide whether the data is deleted. In Components → evoLeadGate → Options → Privacy, the "Delete data on uninstall" setting is No by default. - With No, the leads, downloads and attempts tables stay in the database. - With Yes, they are dropped on uninstall. This cannot be undone. - Save the options before uninstalling.

Uninstall

  1. Open System → Manage → Extensions and filter by "evoLeadGate".
  2. Tick the pkg_evoleadgate package and click Uninstall. Joomla removes the component and the five plugins with it.

What is kept

Item After uninstalling
Tables #__evoleadgate_leads, #__evoleadgate_downloads and #__evoleadgate_attempts Kept if "Delete data on uninstall" was set to "No". If you reinstall the extension, the data is available again.
Folder images/evoleadgate-privado/ and the files in it Kept. The uninstaller does not touch it.
Scheduled task "evoLeadGate: data retention" If it is still listed in System → Scheduled Tasks, delete it by hand.

While you keep the files in images/evoleadgate-privado/, keep its .htaccess too: it is what blocks direct downloads. If you no longer need the files, delete the whole folder.

Deleting the data after uninstalling

If you uninstalled with "Delete data on uninstall" set to "No" and now want the data gone, drop the three tables from your database tool (with your table prefix): evoleadgate_leads, evoleadgate_downloads and evoleadgate_attempts. Take a backup first.

This is not legal advice; ask your own adviser how long you must or may keep the leads.
