evoYTAccess: requirements and installation

Requirements

Component Minimum
Joomla 5.0
PHP 8.1
YOOtheme Pro 5.0, installed in templates/yootheme

The installer checks all three. If one is not met it cancels the installation with a message such as “evoYTAccess requires YOOtheme Pro 5.0.0 or later installed in templates/yootheme”. The YOOtheme check reads the version from templates/yootheme/templateDetails.xml, so it will not find the template if it lives in another folder.

DJ-Catalog2 is optional. You only need it if you want to condition nodes on its categories.

Install the plugin

  1. Download plg_system_evoytaccess-<version>.zip [PENDIENTE: where the ZIP is downloaded in the evoaddons.com customer area and what the button is called].
  2. In Joomla, go to System → Install → Extensions and upload the ZIP.
  3. The plugin enables itself on install. To check, go to System → Plugins and look for “System - evoYTAccess (YOOtheme Pro access conditions)”.
  4. Open a page in the YOOtheme Pro Builder and select any node. The Acceso (Access) tab appears right before Advanced.

On install and on update the installer deletes administrator/cache/autoload_psr4.php, so Joomla picks up the new namespace straight away. You do not need to do it by hand.

If the plugin is disabled, the tab disappears and conditions stop being applied. See uninstalling.

Download ID and updates

The plugin works without a Download ID. The Download ID is for receiving updates through Joomla.

  1. Copy the Download ID of your licence from the customer area. It looks like EVO-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
  2. Go to System → Update Sites, open the evoYTAccess row and paste the key into Joomla’s “Download Key” field.
  3. The plugin picks it up, checks the format, validates it against the licence server and activates your site’s domain.
  4. To see the status, open System → Plugins → System - evoYTAccess and go to the License tab. It shows the last four characters of the key, the status (active, expired, domain not assigned and so on) and the date until which you receive updates. “Check now” and “Remove” re-check the licence or remove the key, and “Open update sites” takes you back to the previous step.

Each licence is assigned to one domain. Licences, terms and site limits are covered in licences and updates.

If you already had the ytaccess plugin

The plugin used to be called ytaccess. If you install over an old installation, the installer:

  • copies the settings and licence from the old plugin to the new one, without overwriting anything you had already set in the new one;
  • disables the old plugin, so two plugins do not register the same Builder fields;
  • deletes nothing: you uninstall the old one yourself once you have checked the new one works;
  • shows a message in the admin telling you it has copied the settings.

Conditions already saved in your layouts keep working, because node properties keep the ytaccess_ prefix.
