Before uninstalling: decide what happens to the data
By default, uninstalling evoOrigin does not delete the three tables (evoorigin_visits, evoorigin_leads and evoorigin_stats). The data stays in the database. If you prefer it to be removed:
- Go to Components → evoOrigin → Options, Uninstall tab.
- Set Delete the tables on uninstall to Yes and save.
- Uninstall afterwards.
Dropping the tables is permanent. If you want to keep anything, export what you need first: for example the statistics through the REST API.
If you leave the tables and reinstall evoOrigin later, the installation does not empty them: the old data is still there. The purge does not run in the meantime, so that data does not expire. If you do not want it, delete it first with the option above or by yourself.
Uninstall
- Go to System → Manage → Extensions.
- Filter by "evoorigin" and uninstall the
pkg_evoorigin package. Joomla removes the component and the five plugins.
- Check System → Scheduled Tasks. The installation created the "evoOrigin: data purge" task; the uninstall script does not remove it. If it is still listed, delete it.
If you remove only the component
The package plugins check whether the component exists. If you uninstall only com_evoorigin, the system plugin stops logging anything but keeps capturing the origin in the Joomla session. To stop capturing it, disable or uninstall the system plugin.
What does not change
The origin stored in active Joomla sessions expires with each session. Uninstalling does not delete it.
