# evoOrigin requirements and installation

## Requirements

| Requirement | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Joomla | 5.0 or later |
| PHP | 8.1 or later |
| Database | MySQL or MariaDB |

The component installer checks the PHP and Joomla versions. If they are not met, it cancels the installation and shows a message.

## What the package installs

`pkg_evoorigin` 1.1.6 installs six extensions:

| Extension | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `com_evoorigin` | Options, statistics, the visit and lead attribution lists, and manual deletion. |
| `evoorigin` system plugin | Captures the origin in the session and, if logging is on, writes the visit. Handles the `onEvooriginLead` event. |
| `evoorigin` privacy plugin | Exports and deletes the visits linked to an identified user. |
| `evoorigin` web services plugin | Read-only routes of the Joomla REST API. |
| `evoorigin` `evomcp` plugin | Tools for evoMCP. They are only used if evoMCP is installed. |
| `evoorigin` task plugin | Daily data purge. |

## Install the package

1. Download the package ZIP from your account. For the licence and downloads, see [Licences and updates](https://evoaddons.com/en/documentation/licences-and-updates).
2. In the Joomla administrator, go to *System → Install → Extensions* and upload the ZIP.
3. In *System → Manage → Extensions*, check that the component and the five plugins are installed and enabled.

On a first install the package enables the five plugins itself (system, privacy, web services, evomcp and task). On an update it does not touch their state.

## What is active after installing

- Session capture works from the start, on frontend pages.
- Visit logging and lead attribution are **not** active. Until you turn them on in the options, evoOrigin writes nothing to its tables.
- The installation creates three tables with your Joomla prefix: `evoorigin_visits`, `evoorigin_leads` and `evoorigin_stats`.
- The package creates a scheduled task, "evoOrigin: data purge", which runs every 24 hours. It is created only if no task of that type exists yet; you can change or disable it in *System → Scheduled Tasks*.

## Updating

Updates arrive through the Joomla update system. The package declares its own update server; for the Download ID and the download key, see [Licences and updates](https://evoaddons.com/en/documentation/licences-and-updates). After updating, check the options: the ones you already had are kept.
